Program Structure & Modes of Study

We offer two flexible pathways to a Ph.D.:

Full-Time Ph.D.
A traditional doctoral route lasting 4–6 years, ideal for full-time researchers, fellowship holders, or institute scholars
Part-Time Ph.D.
Spanning 7–8 years, this option is tailored for working professionals and educators. It offers limited in-person commitments while maintaining the same academic rigour. One year of work experience and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer are required.

Eligibility & Application Essentials

To qualify for admission, prospective students typically need:

A Master’s degree (e.g., M.Ed., MA, M.Sc.) with 50–55% marks, or equivalent UGC 7-point “B” grade.
Preferred or equivalent credentials such as M.Phil., plus relevant work or research experience.

As part of the application, you’ll need to submit:

A robust Research Proposal, showcasing originality, academic rigor, awareness of current debates, and a clear research methodology.
A Statement of Purpose (SOP), detailing your academic journey, research interests, career goals, and motivation for pursuing a Ph.D.
